Penis scar removal in London involves using the CO2 laser or specialised treatment protocol to effectively rejuvenate the male intimate area. Many males are left with scars following circumcision, surgery or injury. We can treat preputial scarring, scar tissue between the tip of the penis and the inside of the foreskin. We can also treat pigmented scars. Genreally scar removal is painless and involves one treatment. However for larger, deeper scars, multiple treatment sessions may be required. The DEKA SmartXide Touch CO2 laser is used at our clinic to reduce scars alongside a variety of other techniques including steroid injections, PRP and whitening injections.

Penile scars resulting from various factors, such as circumcision, preputial issues, pigmented scars, or adhesions, can have both physical and psychological impacts. The DEKA SmartXide Touch CO2 laser is an effective solution for precise penile scar removal, offering patients a non-invasive and technologically advanced option for scar revision.

Penile scars can occur due to different reasons, including circumcision, preputial conditions, pigmented scars, or adhesions. These scars may lead to discomfort, reduced sensitivity, and aesthetic concerns, impacting a man’s self-esteem and overall quality of life.

The DEKA SmartXide Touch CO2 laser is a state-of-the-art medical laser that can treat concerns in male intimate areas. Using laser technology, it delivers precise and controlled energy to the treatment area, allowing for targeted scar removal without affecting surrounding healthy tissue. The procedure itself is short, only lasting for around 10-30 minutes, done under local anaesthesia.

Penile scar treatment process

  1. Consultation and Assessment: A comprehensive consultation with our Urology surgeon, Mr Richard Viney will be conducted to assess the type and extent of penile scarring. This assessment will help determine the most suitable treatment plan. We may recommend a specilised protocol involving injections, rather than using the CO2 laser.
  2. Anaesthesia: Topical or local anaesthesia may be applied to ensure your comfort during the procedure. Prior to your treatment, we will also conduct a patch test.
  3. Laser Application: The DEKA SmartXide Touch CO2 laser is then carefully applied to the specific areas of penile scarring. The laser technology creates micro-injury to the skin, promoting collagen remodelling and stimulating the body’s natural healing process. Renewed tissue and skin will then in time replace the unhealthy tissue.
  4. Precision and Safety: The advanced technology of the DEKA SmartXide Touch CO2 laser allows for precise control over the depth and intensity of the laser, ensuring safety and minimising the risk of side effects. Although the procedure is generally very safe, there is a small risk of scarring or hyperpigmentation.

Penile Scar Removal Benefits

  1. Precision: The laser’s technology enables precise targeting of scar tissue, leaving surrounding healthy tissue unaffected.
  2. Minimal Downtime: Compared to traditional surgical methods, CO2 laser treatment typically involves minimal downtime, allowing patients to resume their regular activities sooner.
  3. Reduced Discomfort: The controlled application of laser energy minimises discomfort during and after the procedure. Our specialists can advise you on the correct protocol to follow after the procedure to further reduce discomfort during the healing period.
  4. Improved look: The stimulation of collagen production promotes smoother and more aesthetically pleasing skin.

Frequently Asked Questions

Normally you’ll need one session, however this will depend on the scar type and size. In the consultation our doctor will advise you with a prediction if you need more than one treatment.

Yes. During treatment, we will aim to target the entire scar on your intimate area. If the scar is very large or complex, to avoid overworking the area and increasing the risks associated with the treatment, you may need to spread the treatment in multiple sessions.

Patients will normally be able to return to normal activities immediately after treatment. You should not engage in sexual intercourse for up to 1 week following treatment, swimming pool, sauna or cardio exercise.

To treat your penis scar with the CO2 laser, our doctor will first clean and apply a numbing cream to the area. He will then use the CO2 laser handpeice to gently glide over the area without touching the penis itself. The laser works by leaving healthy tissue unharmed. After treatment, the area may appear a little sore and a scab will form. This will then fall off in time revealing healthy tissue.

Please wear loose fitting clothes to your appointment and shave or trim the area beforehand.

After your scar removal treatment, please leave the area to heal for the first day or so. You can then wash the area using sterilised water. You should avoid hot baths and swimming pools for a week but can shower freely from the second day.

Please abstain from sexual intercourse for one week and use a condom for a few weeks following this.

Scars may reduce slightly over time but probably will not disappear completely.

Scar removal comes with minimal risks, the most severe one being further scarring in very rare instances. You may also experience hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation in rare circumstances.

Once removed, your scar will not return.

At Eve Clinics we specialise in CO2 laser penile scar removal, and we can help with the scar appearance. If the penile scar is keloid or raised or lumpy, we will need to address first the scar tissue with cortisone injections, to flatten down the scar and reduce the inflammation. The cortisone can help as well to improve the hypopigmentation or white scar. Also, will improve the fibroblast and collagen, general all the scar appearance.

If the penile scar is pigmented we will be able to help you with whitening or melanin inhibitor injections. These can be used only on the scar tissue and not all over the private area or full body whitening.

Ultimately, PRP can be added to our protocol for penile scar, to help with the skin regeneration and scar appearance.

Every scar is treated as unique and need to be adapted a personalised protocol, based on safety, results and not last affordable.
