Dr Iman Qureshi

Dr Iman Qureshi is a Consultant Haematologist at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW), with a specialist interest in haematological diagnostics and complex blood cancers.

A particular area of Dr Qureshi’s practice is the assessment and treatment of iron deficiency, an extremely common problem that can have a significant impact on energy levels, concentration, exercise tolerance and quality of life. She is passionate about improving access to specialist assessment and treatment for patients whose iron deficiency has not adequately responded to, or who are unable to tolerate, oral iron therapy.

Dr Qureshi has developed specialist expertise in the use of intravenous (IV) iron and has established a private IV iron service, providing a dedicated treatment pathway for patients with iron deficiency. IV iron can be an important treatment option where oral iron is ineffective, poorly tolerated or insufficient to restore iron levels. Her aim is to provide a personalised assessment to understand the underlying cause of iron deficiency and, where appropriate, offer effective treatment and follow-up.

Alongside her clinical practice, Dr Qureshi is deputy lead for haematology research at UHCW and principal investigator for a number of blood cancer clinical trials. She has a strong commitment to evidence-based and personalised care and has completed an MSc in Genomic Medicine, supporting her interest in modern precision diagnostics.

Dr Qureshi is also passionate about education, service improvement and developing patient-centred services. She has held senior clinical leadership roles and has received recognition for her contribution to improving local healthcare services, including a Trust Award for Best Services for Local People in 2022.

With her combination of specialist clinical expertise, research experience and commitment to personalised care, Dr Qureshi provides a comprehensive approach to the assessment and management of haematological conditions.
